2-22-23 wisconsin village moves voting after gunshot fired

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin village moved to its backup polling site after a gunshot was fired outside its primary voting location. Dane County Clerk Scott McDonell says voting was closed for about an hour and a half on Tuesday in the Village of Brooklyn while elections officials moved to a public works building a half-mile away. Hours after the incident, sheriff’s deputies arrested a 75-year-old man on suspicion of disorderly conduct while armed. Green County Sheriff Jeff Skatrud says there is no ongoing threat to public safety and that there is no evidence the disruption was related to voting activities.
