Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a home in Fond du lac County. Shortly before 3pm Monday firefighters from ten area departments were called to a home on Valley Creek Road located in the town of Fond du Lac to find the home fully engulfed in flames. Improperly discarded smoking materials are believed to have started the fire, fueled by high winds. The Township of Fond du Lac Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the following fire departments; City of Fond du Lac Fire Department/Ambulance, Van Dyne Fire Department, Eldorado Fire Department, Calumet Fire Department, North Fond du Lac Fire Department, Lamartine Fire Department, Oakfield Fire Department, Brownsville Fire Department, Ripon Fire Department, and RIT Team 5. Wisconsin State Patrol also assisted with traffic control on Highway 45.
