SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital, 620 W. Brown Street, is inviting the public to bring personal and confidential home office papers in need of safe and secure disposal to a free drive-thru paper shredding event from 11 am – 1 pm on Wednesday, May 3. To prevent identity theft, proper disposal of documents that contain private information is important. SSM Health is partnering with Iron Mountain Information Management, LLC, to shred confidential documents which will ultimately be recycled to make paper towels, napkins, tissue, and toilet paper. Participants can enter off Beaver Dam behind the new two-story patient care building (before the Emergency Department) – watch for signs – and a volunteer will help unload papers into the shredding truck on-site. They will then proceed past the helicopter pad and onto Elm Avenue. The first 50 participants will receive an insulated reusable bag. “Caring for the environment is an important part of the Mission of SSM Health,” says DeAnn Thurmer, SSM Health Ripon Community Hospital/SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital president. “With our value of stewardship, we encourage people to care for the earth and each other by recycling and the safe disposing of confidential information.” Special thanks to our shredding partner Iron Mountain Information Management, LLC. All information will be destroyed on site in a manner to which it cannot be recognized or recreated.
Examples of documents are appropriate to shred:
