8-17-23 fired wisconsin courts director files complaints against liberal supreme court justices

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The former director of Wisconsin’s court system who was fired by liberal state Supreme Court justices the day after they gained control of the panel has filed complaints against his replacement and the justices who voted to oust him. In complaints filed Tuesday, Randy Koschnick argues that the Milwaukee County judge appointed to replace him is not eligible to serve as director of state courts until July 2025, when her term as a judge has ended. Since taking control of the Wisconsin Supreme Court earlier this month, liberal justices have moved quickly to make sweeping changes including firing Koschnick and voting to reduce the power of the conservative chief justice.
