The Mayville city council has given the mayor a vote of no confidence. Meeting Monday night the council voted 4-2 to give mayor John Guinn a vote of no confidence. Council president Ken Neumann says nine employees have resigned since the first of the year, alleges the mayor did not follow standard procedure to notify the city clerk when he was out of state earlier this summer, and says the city is behind on the budget process.
