The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a fatal head on collision near the Dodge-Fond du Lac County line that claimed two lives. The crash happened early Wednesday morning on Highay 151 near Highway 49, when a wrong-way box truck collided head on with a car, killing the driver and a passenger in the car. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says investigators are trying to determine why the truck driver, from out of state, was in the wrong lane of traffic. Schmidt says even though it’s a four lane highway it can be difficult for motorists to determine what lane a wrong-way driver is in, especially at night. “It can be challenging at that time of night,” Schmidt told WFDL news. “It’s a lot easier to see them (vehicles) during the daylight and understand what lane they’re in. Sometimes that can be very difficult to navigate and figure out and you’re not expecting it to be on that side of the highway.”
