Careless use of smoking materials are blamed for a fire that damaged a Fond du Lac home. Shortly before 10:30pm Tuesday firefighters were called for a report of a back porch on fire at 123 West McWilliams Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke and fire coming from the wooden porch and surrounding groundcover on the east side of the house. The fire was quickly extinguished and damage was contained to the porch and a portion of exterior wall on the corner of the structure. Nobody was injured.
