Bail has been set at $1 million cash for a Ripon man accused of stabbing another man following a fight. Forty five year old Carlos Mendez Villegas is charged with Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide with use of a dangerous weapon and Aggravated Battery with use of a dangerous weapon. Mendez is accused of stabbing and beating a 35 year old man in the head with a pipe following an argument over a girlfriend November 18th. According to a criminal complaint the victim received a laceration to his face that required several stitches, and a puncture wound to his stomach which also required several stitches. Mendez is due back in court December 12th for his preliminary hearing.
