A swearing in ceremony was held Tuesday afternoon for a new K9 officer in the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt held K9 Josie’s right paw as he administered the oath of office. The purebred black lab is working alongside crisis social worker Sheila Seaborg. “Josie is very helpful. She can do in two minutes what takes us an hour sometimes,” Seaborg told WFDL news. “When people see her they drop their defenses and they start talking and they’re just honest. She helps keep people safe.”
