The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says ice conditions are still sketchy on area lakes despite last week’s deep freeze. Sheriff’s Lieutenant Chris Dobyns says up until last week temperatures have been relatively mild. “December, typically we start seeing ice develop, and we didn’t have that,” Dobyns told WFDL news. Dobyns says ice thickness on Lake Winnebago varies greatly. “There is ice on the lake (Winnebago) and surrounding lakes as well, but to me it’s too inconsistent at this point. Now we’re looking at a warm-up with possibly some rain in there.”
