The Fond du lac Fire Department is expressing concern over what they say is a copycat Facebook page. Fire Department’s Troy Haase says the department learned about the newly created page titled City of Fond du Lac Fire and EMS this week during the shooting incident near Pick N Save. Haase says the copycat page is unauthorized and shows pictures of the fire department logo and apparatus and pushes out incident information. Haase says unconfirmed speculation about the fatal shooting incident was pushed out onto the page causing confusion in the community. Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says he does not appreciate anyone producing a social meda site which depicts itself as the fire department or giving the appearance they are speaking on behalf of the department. O’Leary told WFDL news Wednesday night the Facebook page had been taken down.
