Two people were seriously injured and the driver faces charges following a one-vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County. According to the state patrol, the vehicle was pulled over on Interstate 41 for an equipment violation, when the trooper noticed an odor of marijuana. The vehicle fled the scene and a short time later a sheriff’s deputy found the vehicle had crashed in the area of County Road N at Interstate 41. The driver, 44 year old Laura Hodges, was flown by helicopter to a hospital, and a child passenger was transported to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. Charges are being referred to the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office for fleeing and eluding causing great bodily harm, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with two children in the vehicle under the age of 16, recklessly endangering safety 2nd degree, and operating after suspension causing great bodily harm.
