The new president and CEO of the Wisconsin grocers association says Wisconsin’s grocery industry is strong, but inflation is still a concern.   Mike Semmann took over this month for Brandon Scholz who recently retired.  Semmen says while inflation has cooled from where it was a year ago, grocery shoppers are concerned about consistency in pricing.  Cases of avian inflenza have surged across farms in the United States causing widespread concern among authorities and consumers.   While there are concerns about the potential impact on grocery prices  Semmen says at this point the situation appears stable.  The bird flu has also affected cows and even humans.  Since 2022 there have been two reported cases of human infection, with the most recent case announced April 1.   Semmann made the comments on AM 1170s Between the Lines program.
