Fond du Lac police are investigating a reported sexual assault in a bathroom at the Fond du Lac Public Library. A police report says a woman told officers a man followed her into the bathroom and sexually assaulted her. The incident was reported Sunday afternoon. Fond du Lac Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says the individuals involved are familiar with one another and says its still an active investigation. Library director Jon Mark Bolthouse says he wants the public to know the library is a safe place. “Obviously we take the safety of our patrons very, very seriously and the library is a fun, educational safe environment for everyone,” Bolthouse told WFDL news. Bolthouse says library employees did not notice anything unusual and the alleged victim did not say anything to library staff.
