Fond du Lac police are responding to several calls for service this year at a neighborhood park and the police chief says it’s “unacceptable.” Police Chief Aaron Goldstein says since the beginning of the year police officers have responded 40 times to Plamore Park, for an average of eight calls per month. Goldstein says that compares to only 11 calls at Lakeside Park during the same time period. Goldstein says most of the complaints involve disorderly conduct and threats involving young adults and juveniles. Goldstein says the department has gone to a neighborhood engagement model, similar to a neighborhood watch program to try and get a handle on the problem. Last summer a ribbon cutting ceremony was held at Plamore Park for an inclusive playground for people with disabilities, including a Miracle League baseball diamond.
