The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says two serious motorcycle crashes, including one fatal crash in the past week is a reminder that drivers of other vehicles don’t always see a motorcycle before it’s too late. The state patrol is investigating a motorcycle vs semi-trailer crash on County Highway OO at Rolling Meadows Drive that claimed the life of a Fond du Lac woman and the Sheriff’s Office is investigating a motorcycle-van collision on Highway 23 west of Fond du Lac. Sheriff’s captain, Chris Randall, says in both crashes a vehicle pulled in front of the motorcycle. Randall says a motorcycle operator should drive defensively and always assume the car or truck driver doesn’t see you. “That was one thing my father hammered home at me. He said you stare at every car in that intersection, make contact with them. If they don’t make eye contact with you, use caution,” Randall told WFDL news. Randall also says it appears that alcohol may have been at least one factor in the crash last Friday night on Highway 23.
