Dorf Kapelle will give its 27th  Buttermilk Festival performance on Wednesday, June 26. The concert starts at 7:15 p.m. at the Wifler Performance Center in Buttermilk Creek Park, Fond du Lac. Jon Dietz and his son, Zack, will entertain on concertina and tuba, beginning at 6:15 p.m. and during intermission. In the event of unsuitable weather, the concert will be moved to the County Fairgrounds.  Now in its 37th year, the Dorf Kapelle duplicates the traditions and heritage of Europe, with vocals by Sam Broeniman and Abby Broeniman Kramer. Authentic folk music of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Czech Republic is featured, plus a few favorites from the Great American Songbook. Dorf Kapelle was organized in 1988 and performed at the first Buttermilk Festival in 1989. They have thrilled audiences at major festivals, stage performances, dances and concerts throughout Wisconsin.   The ensemble consists of one flute/piccolo, three clarinets, two flugelhorns, one trumpet, three trombones, two tubas, one tenor horn, one euphonium, and percussion. In addition, the band often splits into smaller combos using accordions, alphorns and other Austrian style instrumentation to provide a variety of musical styles and show its entertainment versatility.  Next on the summer schedule is the Symphonic Band’s Americana Concert on the 4th of July at Lakeside Park. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., followed by fireworks on the lakefront at dusk.
