It’s gotta go. It no longer fits. It’s currently called The BookCellar – the Fond du Lac Public Library’s gem of a used book store located in the basement of the downtown facility – but will be moving to the former pharmacy building at the corner of Sheboygan and Marr streets. “One thing’s clear,” said library Director Jon Mark Bolthouse. “The name has to change. The shop is moving out of the cellar.” The library is launching a Name the Bookstore Contest. Entries can be made online at www.fdlpl.org (look for the contest logo) and in person at The BookCellar, which is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Mondays from noon to 7 p.m. The contest ends at 5 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015. If more than one person submits the winning name, the nomination submitted first will be the winner. Fond du Lac Public Library employees and their immediate families are not eligible to enter. The winner will be announced by June 1 and will receive $100 Association of Commerce gift certificate, $25 in library bookstore gift certificates, his/her name and photo in library publicity, a VIP spot at the bookstore’s grand opening, tentatively scheduled for September, and major bragging rights.
