10-7-24 the ledge games

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Ledge Games (TLG), a local timber competition for charity, returned to Red Cabin at Green Acres on Saturday for the ninth year of competition. The local lumberjack event welcomed hundreds of spectators and more than 100 amateur competitors all vying for the titles of Man, Woman, and Mentor (ages 55+) of the Ledge.   Competition challenged the competitors’ strength and finesse with events including caber toss, hammer toss, recurve archery, keg toss, speed chop and axe throwing. The winner of each event claimed a TLG axe, and the winners of each division were able to take home a new chainsaw and a year’s  worth of bragging rights.  New in 2024, spectators and competitors alike took part in a new public competition – the crosscut saw. Teams of two tested their skill as they raced the clock to see how quick they could cut a
log “cookie” for a chance to win fun prizes.  Since 2016, The Ledge Games and its long list of dedicated local sponsors have raised more than $66,000 to help make education more accessible and affordable for local students studying engineering, manufacturing, technology and related fields. Additionally, TLG continues to engage the community throughout the year with Engineer + Builder Meetups, networking events that allow local industry experts to showcase their personal and professional projects and skill sets.
