A proposed Fond du Lac city budget is balanced and there is a decrease in the tax rate. A public hearing was held at Wednesday night’s city council meeting. City Manager Joe Moore says there are a couple of major projects at Lakeside Park in the capital improvement plan. “Promen Bridge, the bridge adjacent to the pavilion, it’s almost 100 years old. We’re going to replace it,” Moore told WFDL news. “The parking lot at the pavilion which is kind of chewed up, that will be replaced.” “We also have some investments in our waterworks underground, adding some new technology at wastewater (treatment) so that, while we’re compliant now with all the regulations, this will prepare us to be compliant into the future.” A public hearing was also held on the Fond du Lac Transit budget. Moore says there are no fee increases in the transit budget.
