2-27-25 fdl school superintendent backs bill to reverse changes to state testing standards

The Fond du Lac School District superintendent says he supports a bill that reverses changes to state testing standards made under state superintendent Dr. Jill Underly.  Fond du Lac School District superintendent Dr. Jeff Fleig says he hopes the governor signs the bill if it gets to his desk.  “When you’re trying to improve you can’t keep moving the goal line,”  Dr. Fleig told WFDL news.  Dr. Fleig says he wonders if DPI’s decision to change the standards may have been politically motivated.  The DPI changes included lowering the test score threshold for what is considered proficient and changing the terms used to describe student performance.
