WFDL news has learned a Brandon man charged with possession of child pornography and under investigation for child sex assault was a volunteer with the Dodge County Emergency Response team. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says Scott Knuuttila was removed from the team after he was arrested. Schdmit says the team is not a part of the Sheriff’s office. He says the response team is made up of volunteers who assist the Sheriff’s Office by directing traffic at crash scenes. Team members also drive vehicles that have emergency lights. Schmidt says he has notified Mayville police of Knuuttila’s arrest. In February Mayville police received a report of a police impersonation incident.that happened on Highway TW near Theiler Park. In that case the suspect was driving a Dodge Charger and activated red and blue lights on the vehicles dash to perform a traffic stop. The victim says the suspect displayed a gun and demanded his wallet. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Cameron McGee says Knuuttila is also under investigation for the sexual assault of a child in Stevens Point. McGee says detectives are investigating whether there are other potential victims. Knuuttila is being held in the county jail on $100,000 cash bond.
