The Fond du Lac Lakeside Park Exploratory committee has officially released its findings and recommendations following nearly a year of study and review. The committee officially presented its report at Wednesday night’s city council meeting. Committee chair John Short says all of the recommendations are focused on trying to attract more people to the park. Short says at the top of the list is creating more walking and biking paths, making space available for concerts and even more festivals than are already held at the park. The committee also suggests the city explore restoring a swimming beach and possibly building a boardwalk over the rocks. The committee also wants the council to consider the possibility of a locating a restaurant in the park. The council voted to receive and file the report…but could act on specific recommendations this year if money needs to be allocated in the budget .
