The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on US 151 south of Forest Road in the Township of Calamus in Dodge County Wednesday. Preliminary investigation shows that Charles Scheuerell (87 years of age, from Nashotah, WI) was operating a 2007 Buick south on US 151 in the left/inside lane and was slowing to make a left turn at the median crossover. Mark DeHeck (47 years of age, from Kewaskum, WI) was operating a 2005 Envoy south on US 151 behind the Buick. The Envoy failed to slow for the Buick and both vehicles collided. There were no passengers in either vehicle. Scheuerell was severely injured in the crash and transported to Beaver Dam Hospital, but was immediately flown by MedFlight helicopter to UW Hospital in Madison, WI. DeHeck sustained minor injuries in the crash and was not transported to a hospital. Assisting at the scene was: MedFlight helicopter, Beaver Dam Fire Department and EMS. The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
