A project to bring wireless broadband to the rural areas of Fond du lac County is in operation. Fond du Lac County executive Al Buechel says nearly three years after getting approval the towers are up and in operation. “All ten towers are built and operational,” Buechel said. “Everything we had hoped for with this project is occuring.” Buechel says the permit process was slower than expected in part because of the time it takes to get frequency approval from the federal government. Buechel says there was a great need for reliable high speed Internet in the rural areas of the county: Dedication ceremonies are being held Thursday.
