Hundreds of Fond du Lac residents without family or friends to spend Christmas Day with will sit down to a nice Christmas dinner thanks to the generosity of Fond du Lac residents.   The 15th annual Fond du Lac Community Christmas dinner will be held Christmas Day at the Eagles Hall on North Park Avenue.  Nancy Elliman plays the piano during the event which is open to anyone who is alone, unable to prepare a meal or just wants to share in the day…No reservations are needed.  “Really the purpose of this is so that no one really has to be alone,”  Elliman told WFDL news.  “…being with people, a sense of community.  That’s really what its about.”  The leadership and inmates at the Taycheeda women’s prison prepare the meal,  served by volunteers.  If you need transportation call 924-0850 by Wednesday to schedule transportation or deliveries…up to four meals are available to the homebound.
