The Fond du Lac Yacht Club and Mercury Marine are showing their appreciation for Fond du Lac County veterans. The Yacht Club hosted its 5th annual Military Appreciation Cruise…treating 115 veterans to a dinner and cruise on Lake Winnebago Monday night. Yacht Club member Randy Veeser says for many of the vets its their first time on Lake Winnebago. “Several of them have lived in Fond du Lac County and have never been on the water,” Veeser said. “Two years ago when I started participating in this event we actually had veterans that would go out on the lake and they would come back in tears. They had never been on the water and couldn’t believe we would do this event for them.”
