1-10-17 two fdl residents treated for carbon monoxide poisoning

Two Fond du Lac residents are recovering after being poisoned by carbon monoxide.  Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says paramedics were called to a residence on Pioneer Parkway for a report of two people who were feeling sick.   “The poeple had flu-like symptoms but when we took one of our monitors, tested the air in the house, we  found very high levels of carbon monoxide in the home,”  O’Leary told WFDL news.  O’Leary says a faulty furnace is apparently to blame.  O’Leary says there were no carbon monoxide detectors in the home and the people are fortunate.  “This is a good lesson for everybody, a good reminder.  This is the time of year when people are inside more, homes are buttoned up even tighter,” O’Leary said.
