12-31-14 man accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from fdl business

A Fond du Lac man is accused of stealing nearly a half million dollars from a Fond du Lac business.  Sixty one year old Robert Mohr made his initial court appearance Tuesday on a charge of theft in a business setting.  He is free on a thousand dollar signature bond.  Mohr is accused of stealing $461,000 over an eight year period while he helped run the Higher Level youth basketball camps with his former wife, Cheryl Mohr.  According to a criminal complaint Robert Mohr signed his former wife’s name to checks without authorizataion and made unauthorized transfers to pay balances on credit card accounts.  Robert Mohr told investiagators he was the vice president of the business and believed he was authorized to use money from the business to pay family bills.  The charges carry a maximum penalty of  up to 10 years in prison.  A preliminary hearing has been set for Feb. 13.
