A Fond du Lac man was safely rescued after getting stuck on his roof. Firefighters were called to the scene at 164 E. Scott Street shortly before 7pm Sunday for a report of a man who was stuck on his roof and about to fall. A fire crew was on the scene less than four minutes later and found the man hanging from the chimney near the peak of the roof. Fire crews quickly placed a 24 foot extension ladder and reached a 14 foot roof ladder to the peak. The man was able to grab and climb onto the roof ladder to safety. “Credit the rescue crews who kept the victim calm and provided him a safe passage off the roof” said Fire Chief Peter O’Leary. “As a reminder to all citizens, call 911 when you have an immediate need for a fire/rescue response. We are not always at our fire stations, and your call may not be answered as quickly if you call our non-emergency lines”.
