A prison teacher who was severely beaten by an inmate at the Lincoln Hills youth prison says something has to change before someone is killed. Pandora Lobacz was knocked unconscious when she was punched by the 17 year old October 11. “I screamed, come and get him out of here as loud as I could. When I did that he (inmate) went into a fighting stance, bent down and with everything he had he punched me as hard as he could in my face and knocked me out,” Lobacz told AM 1170’s Between the Lines program. Lobacz was transported to the hospital. She had a heart monitor installed and is continuing her recovery at home. Lobacz says corrections staff is at risk after a federal judge issued a temporary injunction this summer limiting the use of pepper spray, solitary confinement and restraints and says her attack is proof of that. “You know what happened to me, hopefully, at least I’ve gotten the word out that there needs to be some major changes.”
