Tis the season to spend with family and friends and this year Americans are traveling in record numbers. State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmuscz says a new AAA survey shows this will be the highest year end travel volume on record and a 3.1 percent Increase compared with last year. Jarmuscz says more than 107 million Americans are expected to celebrate the holidays away from home. Two-point-two million Wisconsinites will travel 50 miles or more. Jarmuscz says 90 percent of holiday travelers will find the most expensive year end gas prices since 2014. Six-point-four million people, including 118,000 Wisconsin residents will travel by air, a 4.1 percent increase. The year-end holiday period runs from Saturday December 23 through Monday January 1.
