A hearing will be held next week to determine if there is probable cause that convicted murderer Gerald Turner is a sexually violent person. The hearing was scheduled after the Wisconsin attorney general’s office filed a petition last Friday requesting that Turner be held in an institution under a mental health commitment. If probable cause is found at the hearing a trial could be scheduled. Turner was convicted in the murder of Lisa French in Fond du Lac on Halloween, 1973. He was scheduled to be released this Thursday.
