12-3-14 green lake county deer thrill kill update

The Green Lake County DNR conservation warden says he’s confident more than one person is responsible for a deer thrill kill incident over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  Warden Nate Ackermann says authorities have now found more than ten deer that were shot and left in the field in central Green Lake County.  Ackerman says he hasn’t seen a deer thrill kill incident to this magnitude during his law enforcement career.  “Its very disturbing, this isn’t  hunting its more of a thrill killing thing where people just shoot and leave the animal to waste,”  Ackerman told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program. One person is in custody and authorities are looking for others who may have been involved.   Eighteen-year-old Cody Johnston of Green Lake is charged with trying to flee an officer, obstructing an officer and criminal damage to property.
