Fond du Lac police have identified the child who was killed after he was struck by a pick-up truck at Lakeside Park West Tuesday evening. Police say a preliminary investigation indicates that five year old Jayden Kaufman with his mother while she was meeting with friends in the parking lot north of the boat launch area. Police say the child was sitting on the parking lot pavement when he was run over by a pick-up driven by a 20 year old Fond du Lac man. Police say the driver was leaving the parking lot as he struck the victim. Kaufman was pronounced dead at St. Agnes Hospital. Police say the accident remains under investigation.
