The Fond du Lac County executive says there are no plans to require facemasks for people in the city county government center. Currently face coverings are required in the circuit courtrooms, but are not required elsewhere in the building. County executive Al Buechel says at this point the decision has been made not to require that people wear facemasks in the building. “We have chosen not to do that at this point,” Buechel told WFDL news. “We’ve put in all kinds of barriers. When you come in through security, the officers are behind plexiglass shields, they’re wearing masks, we’ve got hand sanitizers.” Meanwhile, Buechel also defends the Fair Board’s decision to hold the County Fair last week despite recommendations from the Health Department against doing so. “We have to be willing to take some risks. It is not going away any time soon and what I’m counting on is a vaccine.”
