The Hotel Retlaw in downtown Fond du Lac has a new general manager. Chad Buros has been hired to the post, three months after he was named director of sales and marketing at the hotel. Buros says he plans to market the recently renovated hotel as a classic, downtown boutique hotel that holds appeal for residents and visitors alike. The $30 million renovation project was completed last year. Buros says the goal is to make the hotel the community social center where locals gather for dinner and drinks, couples hold their wedding receptions, and local companies host business travelers. He says optimism was high for this year, and then the pandemic hit. Buros spent seven years at the hotel in the 1990s, including 1997 when it was named The Ramada Hotel of the Year.
