Fond du Lac St. Agnes Hospital emergency medicine physician Dr. Mark Kermgard says getting the COVID vaccine is the next step in controlling the spread of the disease and getting back to some normalcy. Last week Dr. Kermgard became the first Fond du Lac resident to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Despite a report of a health worker in Alaska suffering an allergic reaction after receiving the shot Dr. Kermgard says he had no hesitation to get the vaccine. Dr. Kermgard says this is the beginning for stopping the spread of COVID-19. St. Agnes Hospital received a shipment of about 2,900 doses last week, and Waupun Memorial Hospital received 200 doses.
