Nobody was injured in a fire that significantly damaged a Fond du Lac apartment unit. Shortly before 10:30pm Wednesday firefighters were called to 880 Martin Avenue where they extinguished a fire in a second floor apartment bedroom. The occupants were out of town at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation. FDLFR was assisted by fire departments from the Town of FDL, North FDL, Lamartine, and Ripon. Alliant Energy were called to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation and its cause is undetermined. “We are grateful the unit was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no one was hurt” said fire chief, Peter O’Leary. “ It’s tough to see people lose their belongings especially this close to Christmas.”
