A Fond du Lac County Circuit Court judge is reporting an unusually high number of speeding tickets recently. Judge Peter Grimm says for three intake weeks, while calling traffic tickets for the State Patrol and Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s office there were 23 speeding tickets issued for 25 mph or higher over the posted speed limit. Thirteen of the tickets were issued to women, and 18 to persons under the age of 30. Six citations were issued for speeding in excess of 100 mph, and 10 citations for speeding over 95 mph. Judge Grimm says drivers should be aware that state law requires a mandatory license suspension if the driver exceeds the speed limit by 25 miles an hour in a posted 55 or higher zone. An occupational license is available after a 15 day waiting period.

Defendant entered a not guilty plea and case is set for trial.
