2-25-21 fdl homicide suspect makes initial court appearance

Bail has been set at $1 million cash for a Fond du Lac man charged in the shooting death of another Fond du Lac man.  Dennell Logan made his initial Fond du lac Court appearance on multiple charges including first degree intentional homicide in the February 5 shooting death of David Posey.  Logan also faces charges of felon in passion of a firearm and possession of THC as a repeater. Assistant police chief Steve Klein told WFDL news investigators believe the shooting was drug-related.  Charges were also filed against Callie Bender for two counts of straw purchase of a firearm, one count of aiding a felon and one count of possession of THC.    Klein says Bender is accused of purchasing the gun used in the shooting.   According to a criminal complaint, Fond du Lac police responded to a crash near the downtown where they found  Posey was bleeding from a gunshot wound to  his left thigh unconscious and unresponsive. Posey later died from the gunshot wound at a hospital.
