The Fond du Lac County Sheriff Dive Team has recovered the body of a second canoer who drowned in rough water on Lake Winnebago Monday night. Divers recovered the body of Michael Gohde Thursday afternoon, in the same area where the body of Dakota Goldapske was recovered late Wednesday afternoon after sonar detected a couple of images on the bottom of the lake about a mile north of Lakeside West. Goldapske and Gohde, both 21 years old from Fond du Lac, drowned after their canoe capsized in five foot high waves with 45 mile an hour wind gusts out of the south Monday night. Their bodies were found about a mile north of the Fond du Lac River outlet.
