4-28-21 cdc relaxing outdoor mask restrictions

The CDC is relaxing mask restrictions for outdoor activities.  U.S. health officials say fully vaccinated Americans don’t need to wear masks outdoors anymore unless they are in a big crowd of strangers.  And unvaccinated people can drop face coverings in some cases, too.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released the updated guidance Tuesday.  Fond du Lac  County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says it’s important to provide incentive and reasons for why people should get vaccinated.  “It’s easy for me to sit here and say over the air the importance of getting a vaccine, but if you’re going to keep requiring people to wear masks after they’re fully vaccinated I think the general public can’t really latch onto the importance of getting a vaccine,”  Mueller told WFDL news.  Previously the CDC had been advising that people should wear masks outdoors if they are  within 6 feet of each other. The change comes as more than half of U.S. adults have gotten at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine, and more than a third have been fully vaccinated.
