A veteran Fond du Lac police officer has been promoted. Police chief Bill Lamb says officer Vance Henning was recently promoted to detective. Last fall Detective Henning was one of less than two dozen police officers in the country selected by the United States Attorney General to be presented with the Distinguished Service in Policing award. Henning is a Brandon native. He started his law enforcement career in Kenosha and was hired as a Fond du Lac police officer in 2007.
