Whereas, Fond du Lac’s adult school crossing guards provide support to the Fond du Lac Police with community safety by helping to ensure the safe passage of our youngest, most vulnerable pedestrians, children walking between home and school; and
Whereas, adult school crossing guards must have a deep sense of responsibilty and dedication to our children to brave the harsh weather, split shifts, and heavy traffic; and
Whereas, adult school crossing guards also play an integral role in teaching our children the importance of traffic-hazard identification and safe street- crossing behavior.
Now, Therefore, I, Samuel Meyer, President of the Fond du Lac City Council by my signature afixed, on behalf of our City and its residents, do hereby acknowledge this week, January 12 – 16, 2015, as Adult School Crossing Guard Recognition Week and express our sincere appreciation to our crossing guards for their continued commitment to the safety and well-being of our children.
