The Fond du Lac man, known as Victim A in a federal indictment who was scammed out of millions of dollars by a Florida sports betting consultant is Gary Sadoff the owner Wisconsin’s largest liquor distributor Badger Liquor. Sadoff acknowledged he was the victim in an email to Badger Liquor employees. The email says “I wanted you to hear, directly from me, that I am the victim described in the indictment,” Sadoff says in the email he was threatened with harm and made payments to protect his family. The owner of Real Money Sports, Adam Meyer faces fraud, racketeering, extortion and gun charges. He is accused of scamming Sadoff out of $25 million. According to a federal indictment Meyer runs Real Money Sports, Inc. advising customers on professional and college teams to bet on, selling picks for hundreds of thousands of dollars. After Sadoff reduced his gambling, Meyer told him they were both in danger over a gambling debt that a bookie thought they shared. He would call Sadoff posing as “Kent Wong” and threatened to hurt his family if he didn’t pay. At one point Meyer and an associate flew to Fond du Lac to meet Sadoff. Meyer’s associate brandished a gun and demanded Sadoff send Meyer more money. The Sadoff Family Foundation has made numerous charitable contributions in Fond du Lac including $350,000 to the Arts Council. Tax records show the foundation donated more than $600,000 to various causes in 2013.
