Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue is reminding residence to practice safety this Fourth of July holiday. Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says each year consumer fireworks are responsible for nearly 20,000 fires and causing nearly 13,000 emergency room visits. The Fond du Lac Fire Department hosted a live fireworks demonstration Tuesday to illustrate the potential danger associated with fireworks. O’Leary says residents should leave fireworks to the professionals by attending a public fireworks display in your community.
