A 71 year old Fond du Lac County man was arrested following a high speed chase over the weekend. The chase started Saturday evening when a sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop for a speeding violation on Sheldon Road near Dixon Road in the town of Metomen. The operator drove the truck into section of tall grass behind an outbuilding on Dixon Road before fleeing from the vehicle on foot. A thermal drone was launched to begin an overhead search when a deputy observed a subject in a passing van that matched the description of the operator. Deputies were able to stop that vehicle and take the operator of this pursuit into custody. The 46-year-old van driver was arrested for assisting the suspect in evading law enforcement.
