Fond du Lac High School’s Architecture Construction Engineering (ACE) Academy has been named the recipient of two Education Awards from the NEW Manufacturing Alliance – the Brighter Image Award and the Manufacturer Partnership – School Award.
“The recent recognition from the NEW Manufacturing Alliance is a direct result of a team effort of all of our partners with the ACE Academy,” said Vern Widmer, Technology Education and ACE Academy Teacher at Fond du Lac High School. “The commitment and involvement of everyone, from the administration to business and industry, in the student’s exposure to the 16 skilled trades, is nothing short of remarkable.” The Brighter Image Award recognizes a school that has created a positive image of manufacturing careers for students. Since the ACE Academy began in the 2015-16 school year, the number of students interested in exploring trades industry
opportunities has consistently increased. The ACE Academy program has grown from 35 students in its first year to 181 students this school year.
