SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac Region is offering its pediatric patients, ages 5-11 Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine. SSM Health ambulatory operations administrator Missy Tate says 20 young kids were vaccinated last week and more are scheduled to be vaccinated in the days ahead. Tate tells parents it is safe for your child to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and influenza vaccine at the same time. Tate says the dose for young children is about a third of the amount given to older children and adults and the potential side effects are the same, depending on the individual. Pediatric vaccines are being offered at Fond du Lac Regional Clinics in Fond du Lac, Waupun and Ripon. You can call 920-926-8400 to schedule an appointment.
